Coach Dabney is the reason I went to college. He is the one who pushed me to start filling out applications and applying for scholarships and grants. He made a huge impact at CRHS for many, many students, not just athletes!

He was an awesome person. Charismatic leader and cared for ALL his students and knew everyone. Was my guidance counselor and then my boss as a principal at CSES. He broke many barriers and NEVER paid attention about racial bologna; only about a person’s character despite inequalities he faced. He always said he was an American first then a race. A legend is what he truly is!

Coach made an impact on so many of us at CRHS and every other school he was involved! He always referred to us as his kids, even years after we had graduated! This man was so important to so many and is very deserving of this honor!

Coach deserves this. Hands down. He truly cared about his teachers, staff and students. A parent once shared how he touched her daughter’s life when she was a student at CSE. The girl had moved schools and was in my class; she had a rough start in life and Coach put her on the right path.
