Petition Seeking Permission for NAI visitors to photograph archival material

these can be useful .. and quick ...even school in us allow to take pics if its damging the archives pls make sure to have . digetized archive avialabel so more reserch can be done thankyou

Completely support this petition. The current rules are very inconvenient for both the staff as well as researchers. The mere permission to photograph would speed up work by more than thousand times.

This is long overdue.

This would be the least........., in fact all libraries and archives should be made readers' friendly and documents should be digitised at the earliest and should be made available to researchers hassle free..........

Very important initiative for both scholars and everyday researchers. Don't deny the 21st century for Indians please-- access to the archival knowledge of our country should be easier. We are behind in so many respects already, and shouldn't waste time having to deal with outdated bureaucracy.

This would be such a welcome and positive step for scholars across the world accessing the National Archives of India's holdings! It has my full support.

The basic tenet of a functioning democracy is transparency and : giving experts access to information. Including photographing material for explicitly research-based, academic purposes.

This initiative is of utmost importance as we do not want to be deprived of the opportunity to preserve a part of history albeit through photographs.

I strongly agree that it would be most beneficial to students and researchers, if photographs are permitted at the NAI. Most state archives in India, allow this facility without much hassle.

Taking photographs is already permitted in several State Archives in India. The NAI is thus currently out of step with best practice within India itself.

Cuts the labour of those working in NAI, and gives documents a break from over-handling. This is a win-win proposal.

Great initiative. Essential to encourage empirical research.
