N129 Psych Section 2 Petition
This following document describes factors that have impeded on our learning experience and led to a degrade in preparation for our exams:
- Did not provide a clear or official syllabus to follow causing difficulty in adhering in the curriculum
- Exam 1 was not written by professor. This led to the ineffective use of class time prior to the exam as the professor taught materials that were different than what was on the exam, thus causing students to be unprepared for its content.
- Provided extra credit for the inconvenience of Exam 1, however it only added less than 3%, when the percentage difference between the two cohorts were above 10%
- Difficulty with contacting professor due to slow or no response to emails, as well as inability to provide office hours or other more effective routes for communication with professor.
- Professor solely depended on powerpoints to guide the lecture and reads directly off of them without giving us a direct understanding of the material covered.
- Taught concepts that did not correlate to those covered in the textbook.
- Attempted to answer HESI practice questions during class, and very often answered them incorrectly.
- Failed to provide a sufficient amount of time to review graded exams so that students may identify which questions were answered incorrectly, along with the rationales for those questions.
- Unlike other professors, this professor did not look at the analysis after running scantrons through the scanner to see which questions a majority of the class answered wrong.
