This petition is to call attention to case number 1998 CF 001396. Myris Matthews was sentenced to 19 years and 6 months in the Federal Correctional Center. He was later sentenced to 3 years to IDOC, which was due to start after his FCC sentence. Today Myris was released from the FCC after doing 15 years, and instead of going home he has to go to Marion County to do start the 3 years. I believe that when he plead guilty to the IDOC sentence, he did not think he would ever see freedom again. I believe that he should be given the oppurtunity to go home with his family, and the state should show mercy on his life. I pray that the State of Illinois will see fit to release Myris Matthews, under another form of incarceration.
