The excuses made by banks that it isn't cost effective to continue to allow customers to use cheque books in the future, fell down completely on 19th December when the banks announced huge bonuses yet again. Like everyone esle, I work hard to earn my wages and feel that it isn't the right of my bank to tell me how I can spend my money. I also feel that it's down to customers to decide if they want to use internet/phone banking and they shouldn't feel pressurised by banks to do this, especially given the recent hacking incidents. The British public are far to ready to roll over and take 'uncomfortable' orders from banks/government/companies. Can you imagine the response in France if the French banks tried this? It's time for British bank customers to make a stand, it's your money, and your cheque book, and it should be your choice on how you use it, which it soon won't be! Please sign this petition if you feel strongly that how you use your money is down to you, and not the banks! This petition will eventually be submitted to George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer as well as to the Chairmen of all British banks.
