The Philadelphia Community College of Philadelphia offers a great program in accounting. All of the school's accounting professors I have studied under have been experienced, knowledgeable, and very passionate about teaching. They make learning accounting a very pleasant process and are always able to answer any question a student may have.
The purpose of this petition is that a number of my classmates and I have experienced doing accounting homework both via Wiley Plus and through MyAccountingLab. We would like to express our preference for MyAccountingLab as it provides a number of features that make the learning process much more effective, time-efficient, and free of frustration. MyAccountingLab shows you how to solve similar problems to each problem, step-by-step. Furthermore, if you get an answer wrong, it shows you exactly how the problem should have been solved and allows you one or two more chances to try a similar problem with different numbers. In fact, even after the assignment is graded, you can still go back and practice each type of problem as many times as you like until solving it becomes second nature. This allows you to get as much practice in as you like so that you can truly master the material.
MyWileyPlus does not provide explanations of how to solve similar problems for each homework problem and the homework problems are very much different from the problems in the textbook. Furthermore, if you get a problem wrong, MyWileyPlus will allow you to try three more times but will not show you how the problem should be solved until after you get the problem marked incorrect. Furthermore, after you get the problem marked incorrect, you cannot go back and practice solving similar problems until you master them.
It should be noted that MyAccountingLab also makes teaching much more effective, time-efficient, and free of frustration as students are not left with so many questions regarding homework problems. This allows students to focus on asking questions regarding the textbook, the lectures, and the PowerPoint slides.

In accounting 101 at CCP, we used MyAccountingLab. The interface was user-friendly, everything was well-organized, and the practice problems could be repeated as well as offered a great deal of assistance for the student. Wileyplus seems more instructor-friendly, and offers next to no help for the student in the form of practice problems relating to what the professor assigns. Wileyplus has been an awful experience I've now endured for two accounting courses at CCP, and I hope that the student voice will echo here and return the MyAccountingLab system to general practice.
I would like to see a survey of all the accounting students at CCP to see if everyone;s experiences match those of this class. I have yet to meet anyone who prefers WileyPlus. It's much more difficult to learn and master the material.
I did all my accounting class using Wiley Plus, but it would be nice to switch it up by using My Accounting Lab. I;m looking forward for a better and well explanatory system.
MyAccounting Lab is better organized and if a student takes online classes there is a demo version of each chapter that can better understand learning material. The lay out for solving problems is more user friendly and it doesn't have so many tech issues as Wiley. I will never use Wiley CPA for my preparation because book of my bad experience.
I have taken two classes using WileyPlus thus far. WileyPlus's format and glitchy processing abilities has had a negative impact on my grade in both classes.

I'd like to mention that MyAccounting Lab is not only superior to WileyPlus for homework and practice but also for tests, as it allows for students to return to previously answered questions and correct them if they wish to change any answers before deciding to submit their exam. Considering that we are students and still in the process of mastering the material I think a testing system that affords opportunities for correction and further refinement of skills is better than a system that does not.
