We, the below signed women value & need the WBW space that Lisa Vogel has created for us in the MWMF to remain for WBW only. We honor the festival policy and its intention AS IS. We believe that it is about creating space around an experience that we as women have a right to define. We have the right to define our space and create boundaries around our shared experience.

We sign our names so that you will know this. For too long WBW have been quiet, but not anymore.

We are saying that we believe the lived experiences of being born and assigned female, experiencing a girlhood and remaining womyn is significant. It's about us, and how this worlds sexism and patriarchy has molded us so that we need this separate space to heal in the presence of those also born female. We are willing to fight to keep the intention of MWMF preserved.

We are seeing the festival policy not being judged on its face value, but instead being framed in the negative with language like  “trans-phobia, anti-trans ” and the suggestion that it's an “attack on transwomyn”. We will not allow that weapon to be formed against us. We know and understand that the objective of the MWMF is celebrating and empowering womyn.
