This is something that should be done after the rezoning of the schools is complete. If we do it now than it will be done again when the re-zoning is done. More than that why is study on a community which does not have Columbus dynamics being used instead of MCSD taking the time to work with parents and than develop a plan based on its communities need, dynamics and reality.

Start time for elementary students should be around 8.

Based on the information that has been presented and the fact that all schools and interested parties were not involved in this discussion or decision, I feel this issue needs to be tabled, until all parties are able to be heard and all issues, pros and cons, have been addressed.

With school starting earlier, it is allowing students to be waiting on their bus in the dark. This allows for other cars to not see them as easily. Safety situations could occur when the time schedule is changed.

I disagree with the time change. I would like to see the research on 11, 12, and 13 year olds.

Elementary school students time should remain the same. 8:00 is early enough time for these students esp PreK - 2.

I like the school schedules as is. It’s enough time for me to get my elementary kiddo to school first then my highschool kiddo after directly which is a better use of time than sitting around for 20 minutes.

It hurt the kids and family, more than it will help.

Pay more to bus drivers and you will not have problems getting kids to school. Also, with all the extra duties of teachers, increase their pay!!!

I am heavily against this proposal. The current schedule allows me to take my kids to school myself, not having to rely on the buses. The later start time will mean that I either have to change my work schedule or use the bus. If the lack of drivers is the real issue here, this change could possibly exacerbate an already tremendous problem.

I am not in favor of the high school new bell schedule. High school students that participate in after school activities be it sports or creative arts already have a difficult time juggling activities and homework. A well rounded student produces a well round, productive adult. The proposed schedule would negatively effect students ability to be productive in all aspects of their education and development.

There are many people in the community for the change. The issue here is transparency and communication. We deserve the opportunity to be included in the discussion.

This doesn't really make sense . Are we talking about 15 minutes?
