Overview The Muscatine Community, led by the Muscatine School District and the Flickinger Learning Center, is working to increase the capacity for after school programming in Muscatine. Together, we are working on a State of Iowa grant that could almost double the capacity of available quality after school programming for K-5 students. Program highlights include reading and math support, tutoring (homework help), STEM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and other best practice academic enrichment opportunities.
Current Data* * 89% of parents in Muscatine are interested in quality academic after school programming for their child * Over a third of parents are so committed they would be willing to participate in a volunteer, advisory capacity for the program
Please help show the State of Iowa the amazing support the Muscatine provides for its kids by signing our petition!

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." from Dr. Seuss' The Lorax
* Data collected by a joint survey of Muscatine Community School District and Flickinger Learning Center of school district parents. Full survey results are available at www.flickingerlc.org
We are approaching one hundred supporters. Let's push this over the line right now to show the state our strength.

I am a teacher and many of my students attend the Flickinger Center. What they do for OUR children is making a positive impact not just academically but providing a safe, caring, motivational environment. There are times where there is a waiting list. They are making a difference.

Flickinger Learning Center provides a much needed service to our community. The staff and volunteers serve hundreds of kids each week that are at risk of not having supervision, homework help or food for dinner.

Flickinger Learning Center really cares about their kids. They have been able to get my son to focus on his reading and actually do it. When he is at home, it is another matter entirely.

This program is amazing for the kids, I have personal experience with my kids being part of the program but also get to see kids daily at the school I work at and how it helps them. it would be amazing if it could help more students!
