For the safety of the elementary students of Polson School and St. Alphonsus School, we the undersign are petitioning the City Of Winnipeg to implement a reduced speed school zone on Munroe Avenue in the area of Polson and St Alphonsus school.
Munroe Avenue would not normally qualify for a reduced speed school zone as it is classified a regional street. However, we believe that an exception should be made because:

1. There are two elementary schools on adjacent street blocks on Munroe.
   
   
2. A reduce speed school zone from 50 kilometers per hour to 30 kilometres would have a minimal slowing down on traffic flow. Munroe Avenue terminates at Henderson Hwy. only one block west of St. Alphonsus School, and where traffic must already reduce speed to make a turn or stop for a traffic light.
