Mufti should still be allowed. Considering that this Is Something to look forward to when you become a year 13 is Unfair.

As a parent of an attending student, I think it has been an appalling (lack of due diligence) process whereby the incoming Yr 13 students are being punished (as are the aprents who have to buy yet another uniform) due to the behaviours of outgoing students.
The lack of consultation or discourse (as far as I am aware) around how this could be approached for 2017 is concerning as it intimates a lack of trust and consideration for students (and parents) to participate in bringing about collective change.
Let's hope the democratic process is not stifled in this regard.

There should be consultation with parents re this - 3 uniform changes in 5 yrs is a financial burden on parents. It seems as though this decision has been made because of bad dress sense by a minority so once again the majority have to pay!!

I think its totally unfair that GGHs is pushing this. I am an ex GGHS student who went through to the final year in mufti. To have stuck in with our schooling that far was a real achievement, and being able to wear mufti showed that we had achieved well... it was a good reward for having gotten that far, and gave us some status as seniors of the school. It seems really unfair to take it away from them. My daughter attends GGHS, and as a parent I am not impressed I have to shell out for a THIRD uniform on order to school her there. The new uniform is horrid, prissy and office like wear... I am appalled that they are trying to push that on my daughter. She has years to come of that... let them have a year of freedom before they have to grow up.

i believe as a year 13 that the next years on from that should be able to wear mufti, some of our mothers went through girls high and wore mufti, its a tradition. the prices of the uniform that the students will wear for about three and a half terms will be a ridiculous expense.

Whilst I agree that a uniform to some degree keeps students on a level playing field school is about education not whether you have correct uniform its 2016 not 1916

Yes to mufti it's way more cheaper for some of the family that can't really afford and for students that are in need come on

As a parent I can not see how it is fair to have to buy a uniform for just 1 year. These students should be able to wear mufti......maybe have alist as to what is acceptable for mufti.

It's always been a privilege for year 13s at GGHS to wear mufti and I know when I was there it was fully appreciated and I myself loved being able to have the freedom. These girls are nearly adults and should be trusted to express themselves, the fact that they are putting together this petition goes to prove maturity and should be celebrated for standing up for what they believe in. After stepping out into the world this year I have learnt that many of my friends from all over the world find it very bizarre that I ever wore uniform at all and most countries have no uniform for all of high school. As long as they are at school it shouldn't matter what they are wearing.

I think that it is very unfair on the next generations to come, and I think having mufti is a good privilege for working hard through out the years before the big year 13 lol
