Though I personally do not have my political position much ín common with EPP, this legislation - among other attacks on academic freedom by the government - is opposed by almost the entire political spectrum and most of the Hungarian electorate as well. I'm not completely sure about the impact of the steps the government is about to take to "modernize" the structure of the Academy, but I see lately, that political loyalty is more respected than real knowledge and profession. I also see, that the scientist are live in fear because of the incoming changes. (Hungarian government is against migration, but produces big amount of emigrants.)
