This past April WSSW lost one of our students, Marvin Calvin, to a heart attack. He left a wife and seven children. Those who were lucky enough to have met Marvin, or had class with him, know how deserving he is to receive his degree; even posthumously.

It is unknown if the school plans on honoring Marvin during the July gradation, when he was planning to graduate, but we would like to send around the petition and pass it into Dean Hendricks so she will be aware that we believe Marvin, and his family, deserve to be honored by Marvin posthumously receiving his MSW.

Please sign this petition and pass it around to every WSSW student you know, even the ones who just graduated this May.

Thank you

Dean Hendricks is still hiding behind her silence while the school drags its feet on this basic act of decency for Marvin's family. We are not going to let them sweep this tragedy under the rug so keep the pressure on until they do what is right.

Marvin was my classmate for almost 5 years. He would have been an excellent social worker.

I'm hoping that we can get this done for his family. Marvin deserves to be honored for his achievements and his family deserves to know that he had classmates who cared for him. It was truly sad to hear of his passing and we hope that this can be some form of closure for his family and for our WSSW community. Not many of us were given the opportunity to say goodbye and I'm hoping we can use this to do so and to showcase his hardwork because he would have been there with us in July. Thanks you guys

Although I didn't know Marvin well....From what I have read and seen it only makes sense that his efforts, and achievements in the helping profession be validated with the MSW. His family should be strengthened through this tragic period.
