Thank you. How about including research technicians as well? Such individuals are often new to science and or the workforce which can render them vulnerable to manipulation or exploitation of boundaries. Thanks!

So many of us have been victims of abuse in academia and it continues to be covered up. This culture needs to change and be exposed for what it is.

That’s a good point. On top of everything, we are underpaid

I hope they send a mandatory survey as a way of encouraging people to report inappropriate behaviors

The institution knows who they are. This is why program chairs advise students to stay away from particular labs. Unfortunately these labs still exist, hire staff, recruit interns, and still often end up with students who couldn't match with a lab through rotations. If these faculty are found guilty of being abusive, the institution is fully responsible for harboring these cretins.

My loans certainly contribute to anxiety

There are many PIs at WCM and MSK who are known to foster environments within their laboratories that are downright abusive. I'm sure this is well known to the leadership at both institutions and I completely agree that an investigation needs to take place immediately.

Wish the school put more focus on not just providing the medical resources but also train the PIs to become better mentors and create a healthy environment for students’ mental health.
