As many of you know, Joanna Breitschwerdt was fired on Thursday June 11th by Mrs. Barisano and Fr. Joe Wah. On Friday morning a group participated in a demonstration and meeting with the principal and Fr. Joe at 9 AM. Our purpose was to ask Fr. and Mrs. Barisano to explain the reasons for their action, the reasons for the humiliating manner in which the action was carried out, and to retract the decision. Many voiced their support for Mrs. Breitschwerdt (sometimes referred to as Mrs. B) over the 90 minutes. And in the end, met with firm and verbal resistance and refusal from both Fr. and Barisano. The only agreement reached was there will be a meeting again held on Thursday, June 18th at 7 PM with both Mrs. Barisano and Fr. Wah. The plan is to get more parents and friends to this meeting to show there support. We need everyone's help calling on everyone in all grades interesting in supporting Mrs. B. Please help pass this on to as many people as possible. We want to reach the entire school parent community and more. And we have no time to waste. People are leaving the school in large numbers and we need to take our school back. We are so very concerned that Joanna’s termination will be the last straw for people who are already nervous about some of these problems. How many more students can we afford to lose before the school is no longer financially viable This is our parish and this is our school. With all due respect to Fr. Joe and Mrs. Barisano, action needs to be taken now to change our course. We can’t continue at this rate. School parents are not the only ones upset about this. Older parishioners (and even many without kids at the school) are also concerned. Several have had meetings to discuss the problems going on at the parish that their families have attended for generations. SO REMEMBER--- Thursday, June 18th at 7PM - St Luke Catholic School
