we got the news today that the license is renewed and mr js is staying open. i cant thank you enough for sticking with me while we fought this thing. lets keep supporting local spots like this so they stay part of our city for years to come.

Mr J's Lounge is Milwaukee's premier nightclub for mature adults 30 and older. We offer a unique blend of old and new school music tastes and cater to the responsible drama-free patron's looking for a reputable and safe entertainment nightspot.
For nearly 45 years of operation, Mr J's has provide a safe and secure entertainment atmosphere for its patrons. However as the City of Milwaukee continues to experience its share of crime and violence. Mr J's have found itself embroiled, mislabeled and maligned by others as a magnet for these unfortunate events.
On February 16th, 2022 during its renewal before the City's Licensing Committee. Mr J's Lounge was denied licensing renewal, in part due to factors which are of no fault of Mr. J’s and outside of its control. These factors include crimes which rise out of individuals with personal conflicts and confrontations or property damage resulting out of negligence and opportunity. Shootings, Personal Injury crimes and Property thefts is at a all time high in Milwaukee and occur throughout the city continuously. However, rarely are they considered the fault of an establishment or business. Mr. J’s Lounge should not be made an exception to this rule and should not be made to take the blame for occurrences that are beyond its control.
Mr. J’s Lounge always have and will continue to be a responsibly-operated business and good corporate citizen to its community. Our obligation is to continue to provide a safe environment for our customers, as well as earn the business, support and trust of our patrons and neighborhood. This is our number priority.
In closing; We are asking you to sign and share our online petition in support of our appeal of our license denial. With your support we hope that our appeal will be accepted and the actions of the City of Milwaukee License Committee be rescinded and our license to operate be restored in full.

Im a nin drinker who, prior to pandemic freqented establishment for dinner dates with my Elders. Food is very good, staff friendly and food delicious. This place provides music and events apoealing to a number of cultural generations.
I own a limousine company and provided transportation for Mr. J's musical guest. While the guest performed, I waited outside and the security was impecable. After the show the guest even commented on how secure he felt leaving the venue. I vote to give Mr. J's another chance.
I feel J’s licenses should be reinstated. The club isn’t the cause of violence it the individuals that taking advantage of the opportunity to do the wrong thing outside of J’s. Crime is an issue of its yin the area. Please keep this above average club for those of us over 30.
I think it should stay open on account this place supply jobs in the Community also it pay taxes for city of Milwaukee instead having a close empty building eye sore for City of Milwaukee Let’s make it work for sake of business.
Please don’t make Mr.J’s a scapegoat for a bigger issue. I find myself at Mr.J’s when I need to unwind. I know what I get when going there. Their security is always conscious enough to see me to my vehicle.

Its just embarrassing that we would have to leave (WHAT WE THOUGHT) was our home town, just to find another nice MATURE spot like Mr Jays. We are a BIG CITY, with many visitors that travel here because of our basketball and football team. Where do you think they hang out while here..... MR JAYS
