The government has confirmed the reversal of the cancellation and the MRA4 will be brought into active service. We are now shifting our focus to monitor the integration timeline to ensure these assets are deployed efficiently. Thank you for maintaining the pressure required to secure this outcome.

The United Kingdom is an island nation that needs protection from drug and arms runners, we have Royal Navy ships and submarines that benefit from the anti-submarine warfare capability and a large area of responsibility for search and rescue that cries out for a modern fixed wing aircraft. To not have a maritime patrol aircraft is criminal. This is especially so when the aircraft has completed the development and testing phase and was about to enter service. The RAF cadre crews have also started training and the simulators are delivered and in service at RAF Kinloss. Finally, the aircraft have already been funded from UK tax payers money and to cancel it now is a criminal waste of tax payers money.

This petition is to ask the UK government to reconsider its decision to not bring the MRA4 into service.

Absolute madness to scrap them after all that money was spent. Complete waste of taxpayers cash.

So much for national security. We are basically wide open to subs now.

The nimrod is a legend and we need the capability for real search and rescue. Put them in the air where they belong.
