I wouldn't call this transphobia nearly as quickly as I would cowardice on the school's behalf, but it is ironic that after being given a holiday to celebrate the life of MLK - a man made legendary for his efforts to eradicate prejudice and highlight the failures of those who kowtow to it - THIS is what any person should have to return to, especially Link.

I doubt the crowd would react with "tension" as the school officials are saying. Even so, this change needs to be made one day, so why not now, just because a couple of people are uncomfortable does not mean allowing Link to participate is wrong. I truly hope Klein Oak opens up there eyes to the world around them, instead of remaining in a bubble of transphobia.

I don't think there's much more that need be said that hasn't already been, but just to restate it. By trying to not "bring tension" (whatever that means lmao) is really just letting the haters win. This seems pretty obvious to me that it's just an excuse because they're probably transphobic, but don't want to admit it because they know they'll be judged.

Transphobia should never stop someone from having rights, and it should never stop us from progressing. Denying this to Link for fear of controversy is just letting hateful sentiments win. It reinforces the beliefs of transphobic people.
