How many security guards greet you every morning with a smile? How many security guards remember your name and which car you drive? Mr. Allen was so much more than just a guard-- he was family. Bring him back!

I cannot believe that this is happening after everything he has done and been a part of since I was there in the 6th grade many many moons ago. He has watched little girls turn into young ladies, remembered us by name, and always had an encouraging word to say. I haven't really done much with Duchesne since all of the other changes have been made, but this is appalling, and I am hurt and upset that they would remove a man of his caliber and longevity from their campus. Mr. Allen is about the only thing that has remained he same since I graduated, and this is deeply upsetting. I truly hope that this gets resolved in some fashion!

Mr Allen was always doing a superior job at Duchesne, every time I saw him. I am very concerned he is no longer there.

I am shocked and saddened that after so many, many years of work and dedicated service, Mr. Alan was so quickly pushed aside. This is not just a job for him, and the DASH community is an integral part of his life. He always was a symbol of the DASH community. I hope to see him reinstated.

Mr. Allen has known me since I was in Pre-K and I'm currently a junior in college. To this day he remembers me, asks me questions about my life, and ALWAYS treats me, and everyone else with the utmost respect and professionalism. To be perfectly blunt, he was the best staff member at DASH. This is unbelievable and unacceptable to treat such a loved and loyal member of Duchesne's staff with so much disrespect. This is something he would never do. I hope that this petition brings about change because this is not the way I remember Duchesne, nor the way I want to.

He was like an uncle to my daughter and always so helpful to me as an active parent at DASH! I trust and support him fully!

The morning we didn't see him, we thought he must be unwell. Even my daughter said that Duchesne would never let Mr Alan get transferred. Now this. She will be truly upset.

Mr.Allen brings so much life to the school! He has been here for years, and never fails to brighten your day. I think this is extremely unfair to take Mr.Allen out of the community. He has done so much for us. I thought Duchesne was supposed to be a community?! I guess not.

My sisters and I each attended Duchesne from Pre-Kindergarten through senior year of high school. Mr. Allen was an important part of our mornings, afternoons, and our childhoods generally. He is part of the heart of Duchesne. If Mr. Allen has been "reassigned" without cause, I am outraged. - K. Greer Kuras, c/o '99

Wow. It is so sad that Duchesne let Alan go. They didn't even give us a reason. THEY need to follow the goals that THEY teach. This really is a sign of pure thoughtlessness on Duchesne's part, that needs to be fixed.

So disappointed to hear about Mr. Alan's 'transfer'. He knew my girls' names from the time they started pre-k. His friendly smile was always a wonderful start to the day (including my day). To hear the girls cheer for him when he was in the fashion show at the annual Mother Daughter Luncheon was fun. He's the Dash Rock Star! He was a welcoming and friendly presence at the entry to Duchesne and represented the values that I thought the school stood for. I guess those values have changed if this is how a long term and loyal employee is treated.

I agree with those who have expressed the desire for more transparency. Furthermore, I would hope that the administration works with any employee against whom there is a complaint (e.g., by providing further training) before simply removing the person from campus. During my time at Duchesne, I sincerely appreciated Mr. Allen's cheerful demeanor, helpfulness, and reassurance. I hope that the community shows him the same respect that he always showed to the students and their families, even when the students weren't on our best behavior.
