Welcome back Mr. Allen! You have been missed!! And don't worry about the letter. After what happened with Mrs. Gleaves, anyone with some common sense would've hired an attorney. And I mean anyone.

So very happy to have Mr. Allen back!!!
I truly hope he is treated fairly by the administration from here on out. Given the latest letter, it appears they're still up to the same old tricks. Is it so hard to say YOU caused this frustration or that YOU caused his transfer by his employer?? And going on and on blaming Mr. Allen for rightfully hiring an attorney. Take responsibility already!!!
An opportunity to regain trust was lost. Again.
The Board should not think this solved all the problems that this terrible situation brought to light. What about other terminations or demotions that were unnecessary but swept under the rug? If it took over 1700 signatures and months to resolve a situation that never should've happened, our faculty have every right to be scared. I hope we keep taking measures to repair some very deep wounds.

Mr. Allen is a very special caring and responsible person. He could always be counted on to support the students and parents, whatever their needs. Losing him is a great loss to the Duchesne community.

So sad. I couldn't figure out why all the talk started up again outside the DASH community. Apparently it's linked to admission season. I'm tired of being asked "does she really think everyone was stupid enough to believe that (email)?" I just shrug.
The face of Duchesne must always be someone who the community has respect for, whom they can speak highly of to outsiders, whose morals are beyond reproach and who loves the school with every fiber of their being.
IMHO someone who has these qualities would have already brought back Mr. Allen.

To DASH Anon - The Board cannot make the Head do anything. They can recommend and advise, but as far as their power goes they can really only fire her and install a new Head. Some Board members are parents; you can find their email addresses in the directory. Others have email addresses findable through a brief internet search. I encourage you to write to as many Board members as you can with your concerns about integrity.

Does anyone know if the Board has met on this issue? Shouldn't they tell us if they met and voted on bringing Mr. Allen back. If they did, I guess it's obvious how they/Swenson voted. If not, why not? Too much time has passed.
Board members generally have legal and ethical duties to the community - paying attention to issues of concern, raising questions when necessary, enhancing the school's public standing, ensuring legal and ethical integrity, serving the whole school, not just special groups. Does the Duchesne Board have such duties? If so, it's time for answers and action. It's time to stop ignoring over 1700 members of the community.

As a former Admin. staff member I was dismayed when I heard about Mr. Allen's sudden removal, after more than 25 years. There seems to be an atmosphere of distrust and lack of respect in the school at the moment - so very different from when I worked there.

My daughter Rachel Jefferson attended Dechesne from K-12 and Allen was a constant throughout those 13 years. He was there at drop off and again at pick up during those lower school years. You could count on him to know what was going on at all times. He knew who belonged there and who didn't. Whoever or whatever brought this on had no idea what this man has meant to this Duchesne family. Mr. Allen you are loved and will never be forgotten.

I can not believe the Board of Directors and the Administration has not moved on this issue. Every day that passes shows they don't listen to the thoughts of parents and alumni. Have they at least thought about the apprehension the faculty is harboring? It can't help but trickle into the classroom. Silence is only making things worse.

The petition may be quieter but the private school community is NOT. Other schools have heard all about the outrage surrounding Mr. Allen's unexplained departure, other highly questionable actions taken by the administration, the lack of respectful communication (that many feel are just plain lies), frightened faculty, concern about what will surface next and will there be any legal issues headed our way??
Like us, they are questioning why NOTHING has changed. Universities have overhauled administrations for much less. I'm embarrassed when I have no answers for outsiders but just my own questions.
How do we now obtain good teachers from other Houston schools? From anywhere? How do we retain our wonderful faculty and staff? How do we attract good families or prevent good families from leaving? Or keep donations coming in...
IS THE BOARD REALLY OKAY WITH EVERYTHING THAT'S GONE ON AND THE STATE OF OUR REPUTATION???
At least take the first step towards recovery - BRING BACK MR. ALLEN!!! Earn back some goodwill! Everyday he is not returned is ANOTHER failure by the administration.
