MPharm Online Assessments Appeal

I agree with this proposition, the COVID-19 ordeal has caused me a considerable amount of stress and stress induced anxiety and I am not in fit state to revise at this moment in time. The drastic increase in contact hours this term has made it difficult for me to participate in the leisure activities that support my mental health so for this reason I belive the exams should be scrapped. Please take this into account and we hope a sound and fair decision is made with regards to this life threatening pandemic. Kind regards, Anon

Many unis have cancelled exams due to the current circumstances - Aston should do the same.

I have found it difficult to cope with the changes going on as I constantly feel unsettled, uncertain and overwhelmed

There are many problems with online assessments such as bad internet and also everyone has gone home and sometimes there isn’t a good place to revise and work

I think it should cancel

Students shouldn’t have to stress about exams at a time like this especially when other universities (inc Russel group) have cancelled exams even for medicine students. Aston is not even a Russel group university so it’s pretty absurd that this is even a thing right now

I wholeheartedly support this. I implore you to think of the students well being and encourage to cancel the exams before there is irreversible psychological and physical damage to these young adults. Safety of our future is paramount. And the children our future. Sincerely, Cornelius.

Just like University of Birmingham, we should be allowed to progress onto the next stage of the course. As it proves the GPhC have allowed this, meaning this doesn’t stop Aston from doing the same. Online Assessments just won’t work. Student Number: 180022269

Dear School of Pharmacy. We appreciate your efforts to make exams robust and fair. But there is no way this can happen unfortunately if exams are to take place during this climate. Many students do not have safe working places at home and not afford the luxury of high quality internet. Hence, there will be a lot of circumstances hindering students from performing their very best in these upcoming assessments.

I’ve got so much going on at home with struggling for money and three of us being really ill, I cannot even begin to think about exams
