The funding for Moving on Up has been approved. I am drained from this fight but incredibly grateful to everyone who stuck by us to make this happen for these young men. We have a lot of work ahead of us now to turn these resources into real opportunity.

Final supporters
Moving on Up is an employment support initiative targeted at young black men aged 16-24 in Brent – this is a group that are extremely underrepresented in the local labour market and face a range of barriers. It will be working to move unemployed young black men into quality employment and providing in-work support to young black men who are in low paid employment.
Moving on Up will be delivered by a group of community organisations including Action West London, Access UK, PLIAS and Making the Leap.
The Moving on Up project requests the support of the community in Brent to draw down the necessary funding. If you would be prepared to support it, please sign below.

Reaching this point has been an exhausting climb but I am encouraged to see the steady growth of support for these young men. The momentum we have built confirms that people truly care about the future of this community. I am tired but I am clearly not doing this alone.

The African Caribbean young people are desperately in need of bespoke educational and business skills training.
Something that is needed not just in Brent.... but to serve as a initiative that can be rolled out across other melanin majority areas in UK.
Supporting young people develop resilience to systemic racism is one of the most important things we can do to ensure legacy.
At this present time with rising youth violence we need everyone in the work to divert young people from this life choice
Am praying for this petition as someone who spent her early 20s in Brent. Welldone for the hard work in promoting t youth work and being concerned .
I do support this Initiative that That unable to reach or are use who have been marginalised and disenfranchise into this community by any means necessary

Great initiative engaging youth with career opportunities whilst learning the skill of responsibility! Great work again Access Uk
