Class of 2001. I made it; however, as of today, I am still broken from my experiences while at USNA.

USNA '81. I never felt an ounce of discrimination during my 24 years in the Marine Corps either as an enlisted Marine or as an officer. While a midshipman, I felt discrimination every minute of every day for 4 years. The Naval Academy should be training leaders, not fostering discrimination.

I am glad that I am part of the group from '80, while being in '81. I shared this on the '81 group and the '82 group. I will also share on the facebook wall, as a personal linkedin post. It should be considered applicable through all USNA LinkedIn groups ( about 5 at last count ), and a few Service Academy groups.

It saddens me that a statement like this is needed so many years after 7/6/76. But I couldn't be more proud that it is my classmates who are, yet again, leading the way! I am truly humbled to be among you.

(21 years USMC/USMCR)
The unfortunate motto adopted by my class was the reason I never joined the alumni association. For what it is worth, and not for a moment do I think powerful, brilliant, and courageous women like Janie Mines need anything from me, I endorse the "Moving Forward Statement" and stand ready to help if I might.
