Roger Goodell and the NFL can best protect the integrity of the game by insuring that they: 1) base their decisions on the evidence not on conjecture or supposition, 2) be objective and impartial, 3) be consistent, 4) be even-handed in meeting out discipline, 4) employ a neutral arbitrator in the event of an appeal. They have damaged the integrity of the game by not doing the above.

The integrity of the game is what this is all about. But you can knock your wife out in an elevator and drag her out by her feet,you can beat your child with a switch to a bloody pulp and these are player misconduct. No they are far more damaging to the integrity of the the game than an under inflated football. The time has come for the NFL to start policing itself and forget about protecting the fan.
