Preservation of the Louisville Confederate monument is important in Kentucky's continued effort to maintain the integrity of our history, including the pivotal role that the Commonwealth played for both sides of the Civil War. Additionally, given the important role that Brandenburg played in Morgan's raid, it would be a logical place to relocate the monument.

I'm all for moving it to Brandenburg. It's history and history should not be buried. If we are going to allow parts of history to be buried then all parts should be buried. Maybe the American Indians would like the reminders of how they were screwed over to be removed. Where does it end?

As the recently retired city clerk of the City of Brandenburg I know how much pride, work, and dedication the city has in the Riverfront park. In the 30 plus years of employment, the historic John Hunt Trail along the Riverfront Park has always been a priority. The city of Brandenburg received grants in prior years to upgrade and improve the accessibility to the park and historic trail. I sign this petition requesting the relocation of the statue to the City of Brandenburg Riverfront Park to allow another part of history to be observed ..... As it should be. Thank you in advance for your consideration to this request.
