Every year the main part of Menai Bridge Fair, in Menai Bridge Isle of Anglesey is set up on Waun Car park. This is the main car park in Menai Bridge, surrounded by houses, businesses and also a doctors surgery and a fire station. This creates a massive upheaval and infinite stress for residents and makes access to the doctors surgery near impossible. The car parking spaces are not replaced therefore the town is an absolute nightmare for access and parking. The proximity of the rides in Waen car park to houses mean that for 10 days, residents have to endure 11 hours of banging crude music per day, reduced sometimes hazardous access to their homes, dangerous rides and staff who do not provide toilets for either the public nor themselves. This year the staff were throwing countless lightbulbs to the ground from rides and allowing them to smash on the ground. It turns out that the land is let to the council as a carpark for most of the year, but for two weeks ownership falls back to the owner. The council pay him £14,000 per year ground rent, yet the council pay for resurfacing which is £47,000. I think it's time this tradition changed and that the council should move the fair somewhere else. It has been going for years here but I think it's time to move with the times and stop messing up residents lives.
