What We Want: Classes at Fontbonne University to be moved online

When: March 16th

Why: Covid-19 has an incubation period up to two weeks where the host is asymptomatic but still contagious! Furthermore, the virus can exist outside the body for up to three days as emerging research shows. Waiting for a student to be infected is a terribly flawed plan as by the time one student is confirmed 100s might have been exposed already! Most students at Fontbonne are also commuters who return to their families everyday after school. Not only is this policy putting students in unnecessary risk, but our families and the community of STL. Many organizations, events planners, and schools in STL and the United States have recognized this risk and have taken the necessary action to minimize it. Fontbonne policy is contrary to this and is simply dangerous and unacceptable.

What you can do: Please sign up for this petition so we can uniformly voice our disapproval of this dangerous policy to the leadership of Fontbonne. Share this with fellow students, friends, and family as this affects them too. Reach out to the staff of Fontbonne and voice your concerns. If you personally feel you are in danger do not attend class. Take care of your own and family’s health.
