Sign this petition if you agree that putting any type of Shelter either at First Christian Church on Kessler or any location next to a Preschool or School is the wrong location. Currently an Emergency Weather Shelter, staffed by Love Overwhelming is proposed for 2000 East Kessler Blvd next to Kids World Learning Center & Kessler Elementary.

We need to be responsible & Protect our children, they are truly our communitys most vulnerable population & let's aim to have a Respectful & Productive discussion on where a good location might be.

It's awesome that the Ministry has stepped up to provide assistance to those who may need it but we need to make sure they hear our concerns as well.

Come to the meeting October 7th at 7:00pm at First Christian Church to express your opinion.

i’d like to know who is going to clean up the human waste, trash, needles and everything else they leave behind outside. And also what happened to Chuck Hendrickson and the church that bought the old triangle theater who said they would use it as a warming shelter as well as checks coffee shop on commerce.?

So glad you guys are doing this! But don’t let your heart cloud your judgement. There HAS to be another option. What about one of the many large empty buildings that are scattered about town. Like the old Office Max building near Washington.

I am all for taking care of those in our community but a location that many children frequent is not something I can support. My daughter currently goes to the school as well did my sons. Her safety, as well as the other children's, outrank everything.

I have, Last winter and the winter before, spent my early early mornings before work at the severe weather shelter making breakfast for and feeding the homeless but I am also a mother and a grandmother... I am signing this because I agree that it should be moved to a different location .

No! This is not an ok location. LO lost funding because businesses were complaining about people defecating outside, selling drugs and having sex in public. It is also against Longview emergency shelter zoning laws. There is a 1000ft buffer around schools for a reason.

This should not happen. The safety of of kids should come first. Also would be concerned about those with sex offense charges registered as homeless using the shelter and being so close to a walking school where the kids are often walking alone in the winter and it is still dark out no child should be put at risk!

I do not want to see any type of shelter next to a preschool or next to an elementary school. I understand people need help, but our children's safety should be our first concern.

I strongly agree. You never know who may walk thru the doors. If they dont have an I'd than how can anybody tell who they really are and what standing status is for them rite now.
