Mountaineering UCC Strength & Conditioning 17/18
Luke McGrane here (rock climber and Mardyke gym staff).
I'm very keen to get the mountaineering club into the squad gym for an hour every week in the upcoming college year. I plan to devise separate programmes for both climbers and hikers. A year long plan to develop strength-endurance, strength, and finally power all the while educating about and incorporating injury reduction (hikers: knees and ankles, climbers: shoulders, knees and wrists).
To make this happen, I will need to produce to my S&C boss that there is:
1. A demand for a club hour in the squad gym.
2. A plan for the year of what I want to do with the club.
This plan is going to take me 4-8 hours to prepare and only want to commit my time if there is a demand for it.
