Motocross is a sport that requires skill and fast reflexes. Top riders such as Ricky Carmichal, Chad Reed, and James Stewart take time to practice day in and day out learning from their mistakes. We as riders and also racers need that ability too but theres a problem. Our local riding areas that we have used for years are slowly getting shut down forcing us to travel long distances just for a few hours to ride. On a typical day at the track, there is approximetly 350-600 plus riders. That count isn\'t including spectators. By building this motocross park in Monroe County, it will not only eliminate the complaints but will also provide many new jobs and bring in a lot of income for the community. People from all over would come to ride which will benefit many businesses from gas stations up to resturants and hotels. Sponsors could get involved to help fund money such as the hotels, resturants and also motorcycle dealerships. By building an outdoor and indoor motocross track, more income would be produced, and would just about pay for itself in a years time. During the winter months, riders pull out their hair looking for places to go to ride. We are forced to go well out of town and even out of state to similar facilities. And also by building two tracks, During rain storms and such, there is still a place to go. Skate parks were brought up in topic of discussion also. These were built to keep kids off the streets and out of parking lots. Since these have been created, there isn\'t as many complaints nor is there as much damage to curbs and vandalism. Giving people a place to go and enjoy their sport is a gift in itself. And as supporters of the sport, it is well appriciated. So please, find it in your hearts to keep a well known and very active sport alive.
Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of us share the same frustration regarding the lack of local space for our riders. The energy behind this project has grown beyond just a few local tracks and now reveals a genuine need for a permanent home for our community.

Keep the kids off the streets and in the dirt. Much better than them causing trouble elsewhere. Build the track already.

We need a place to ride locally. Gas is way too expensive to drive 3 hours every weekend just to put in some laps at the track.

My son rides all the time and we are sick of traveling so far just so he can practice. This would be huge for Monroe County!!!
