Prayer is an essential activity in the life of an observant Jew. Three times a day, we are required to gather as a Minyan to give thanks to G-D for the tremendous blessings bestowed upon us every moment.

Every day, over 100 Orthodox Jewish students currently attending the Interdisciplinary Centre (IDC), of Herzliya, Israel, struggle to gather and express their religious ritualistic rights in a respectable, timely manner. Gathering the bare minimum of 10 men for Shacharit, Mincha or Arravit is nearly impossible to achieve under the current circumstances.

Without accessible accommodations both large, and respectable enough to properly fulfill our religious rights; as Jews, Israeli's, and tuition paying students; our Jewish identities and rights should be affirmed!

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO A RESPECTABLE PRAYER FACILITY, ON CAMPUS, THAT IS sanctified for religious observance; specifically prayer services.

Currently, there is nowhere to pray, that is appropriate for us, the " The Jewish Orthodox Students Of IDC (JOSI)", within school parameters, to express and practice our religious beliefs, and rituals undisturbed, undiscriminated, and in a peaceful state of mind. We will no longer stand by, passively, to ignore, suppress, or diminish our religious rights, and freedoms of expression of our Jewish values in a respectable manner.

The current Campus prayer room is a shameful illustration of respect and consideration for us, the " The Jewish Orthodox Students Of IDC (JOSI) ". It also devalues our Jewish heritage, and the families we come from. Specifically, the lack of attention from the IDC administration is distressful to our parents; many of which pay tuition, and expect the institution to enable and empower their' children to practice Jewish faith in a respectable, DIGNIFIED and undisturbed way.

We can no longer stand by and allow this deplorable state of affairs to our respectable Jewish identities to proceed further!

We NEED a synagogue, prayer room, or official space to pray inside of, THAT IS NOT A CLOSET-SIZED BOMB-SHELTER!

We NEED THE SUPPORT OF IDC'S ADMINISTRATION TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS!!

WE NEED A SPACE THAT IS SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER!

This facility should be capable of fitting the growing observant Jewish student body, comfortably and respectfully.

With respect and humility,

The Jewish Orthodox Students Of IDC (JOSI)

IDC needs this. Trying to get a minyan in common areas is ridiculous.
