Mothers in Action for the Orphans of Haiti
We support the thinking of the director of King's Kids Worldwide (www.kings-kids.ca) based out of BC. They are an NGO that has been providing medical support to established orphanages in Haiti for 10 years; and have two staff on the ground in Haiti providing humanitarian aid at this time. We agree with King's Kids Worldwide that the governments of Haiti and Canada should provide humanitarian parole for children who are already identified as orphans to bring them to Canada to this or other facilities for care (and private homes who have already adopted children and are, therefore, known to the government by home studies and other approvals). The children in question have already been in established orphanages (that NGO's have worked with in the past) for an extended period of time. Paperwork is already in place to confirm guardianship with the orphanage directors.

King's Kids in British Columbia is promoting the need for "humanitarian parole" for the children of Haiti. The goal would be to move children who are orphaned into safe places (ie other countries) until the country of Haiti becomes more stable.
