In March of 2006 my 3 year old daughter was a victim of aggervated sexual assult by her (MALE) cousin who was a minor (16). I was devastated when she told me.I immediatley took her to my husband at work and hd her tell him what she had told me and well yes my world changed right before me. My world was torn upside down what I thought couldn't get any worse has... Here is the rest of my TRUE story... We had filed charges against this boy (my husbands brothers son) and we were told that he would be getting a charge as an adult.... well here is what he received... 2 years probation can not have a vehicle in his name during this 2 year period no drivers licenses has to attend counseling Can not live at home because he has two younger siblings which one of them he has down this to already according to his Stepmom...(and they NEVER said or did anything about) That is why this has happened to my child.They allowed this boy to come to my home and knowing what he had done inthe past they NEVER informed us of this so we could better watch our children.This boy was at my house alot. NOW for what he really has to do He got 2 years probation he gets to drive a car and he gets to have a driver licenses he has to attend counseling and yeah he gets to live at home with his two younger siblings as to which one of them he has done this same thing to... and his parents nor Stepmom DID NOTHING ABOUT JUST SWEPT IT UNDER THE RUG OH Oh an dthe other thing that he gets to do is ATTEND PUBLIC SCHOOL WITH YOUR KIDS AND HE DOESN'T HAVE TO TELL ANYONE WHY BECASUE HE IS A MINOR.. If he keeps out of trouble till he is 18 he gets away without having to register as an offender when he is 18. So that means this boy oculd get a job working at a child care facility or become a doctor(which I highly doubt)he could become anything and be around your children. WHY becasue the law protects the MINOR.
