Keep Community Roots K - 8 in Fort Greene!

NO DONATIONS REQUIRED. IGNORE DONATION REQUEST.
We, the families and friends of Community Roots Charter School (CRCS) and residents of school District 13, support the middle school expansion of Community Roots Charter School. This expansion will provide 150 additional middle school seats in an inclusion environment in District 13.
We support the NYC Department of Education's proposal to allow grades K - 8 to remain together at 51 St Edwards Street, Brooklyn, NY, co-located in K067 with PS 67 Charles A. Dorsey, neighborhood zoned school, and PS 369, a District 75 school. Community Roots Charter School, PS 67 and PS 369 have a track record of working together to improve the school for the benefit of all students and the community. Growing CRCS as a cohesive K-8 is essential to the school's approach. A split site is not an option.
- Together the schools renovated the schoolyard - providing a safe play space for students in the three schools and children from the surrounding community.
- The schools worked together on the "Paint the Pavement" street mural project.
- The schools participate together in an annual book fair.
- The schools are working together to develop the Three Stars School Garden, and have submitted a capital grant to develop the garden into an outdoor classroom that will benefit all three schools.
