50 km zone to Caltex would be a great idea.

I was struck by a car outside IGA on 20th February, and although not seriously hurt, I have been left very nervous when having to cross the highway.

My Mother has Macular Degeneration (legally blind) and cannot safely cross the road to go to the supermarket or anything else on the other side of High Street. Why should residents dodge traffic in their own town?

It's scary trying to cross the road to IGA with children. Often we're faced with a constant stream of traffic in both directions, with drivers having no concern to us at all. It's actually terrifying. I can't imagine how much worse it is for those who can't walk quickly and risk breaking a hip if they fall. Cars seem more aware in town. But at IGA they rule the road. We need groceries most days. Bad luck if you live on wrong side of the road.

Particularly weekends and holiday time is a fatality waiting to happen, the way people cross the roads in town.

Sometimes on the long weekends with all the passing through traffic it is very hard to get from one side to the other, especially for the elderly.

These are so overdue the highway gets so busy at times

Maybe the Post Office/ Chemist area would be a better spot than Segga's as they are used by most people.

I have been a resident of Heathcote for 18 years now and I have noticed that the traffic is getting way more than previous years. We also have Public Holidays, School Holidays traffic that come through which swells the town massively. I think a couple of Zebra Crossings and the speed limit reduced to 50kmh all the way to at least past IGA is a great option. Holiday traffic people tend to not watch where they are going, getting meals and wanting to get back on the roads. Trucks come through the main street without a care for speed limits. I fear that one day we will see a major fatality.

I agree we need these crossings and the speed limit reduced to 50km near the IGA. Traffic is busy and town growing.

would be much safer on such a wide road to manouver

Need lower speed limit through out town, and crossings, with flashing lights like other towns that have main streets half the length of ours. Dangerous especially for the elderly and people with disabilities, of which we have a lot in Heathcote.

Town gets busier and busier and with our elderly population, crossing is becoming more difficult. Pedestrian crossings are needed in several spots, as indicated. Leslye Thies

I thing more crossing's and lower the speed limit is a very good idea.

The speed limit of 50km needs to be the length of the town. with the addition of at least 2 pedestrian crossings ,
