My daughter paid for commuter parking this year after living on campus last 3years. She is disappointed with her parking option distance from classes as she is working 4 jobs and commuting for classes.

Need more parking

I am a commuter student and I had to park across the street from 29th avenue which is ridiculous and means I have to leave home 20 minutes earlier just to be on time for my class.

My daughter has a commuter pass and already is up on the top floor of garage parking in the sun. They need more parking garages with the increases in students.

I hold a Colter pass but have only been able to park in that lot the first few days of Welcome Week. The rest of the time there has been no available spots. In addition, there are cars parked unsafely and the possibility of accidents are very high. If you turn into a row, it is also next to impossible to turn around or circle onto another row because it has been blocked by parked cars and construction bricks. I have been forced to park in other locations and risk a ticket just to park my car. This is unsafe and irresponsible of GCU. More dorms and more students should lead to more parking locations, or at the least turning away people from getting parking passes once that lot has been sold out rather than overselling. I love GCU but this is becoming a sore spot in my senior year.

As a parent I have only been able to park in the main garage. With my child in Sedona this year it has been very difficult to park & carry items that far in the heat. Honestly, I have had to park at the hotel & shuttle over to cut the walk.

More parking needed

I park all the way at that 29th Ave lot because at the time I couldn't afford the $150 halo garage parking. I thought it would be okay, but the walk from 29th Ave to campus is horrible to have to do in the heat. GCU needs to open back up the entrance over by the camelback storage units because if anyone has a class on that side of the campus, it is faster and easier to walk to that exit to get to 29th Ave instead of what I had to do yesterday which was walk from the stem building all the way over to the main entrance by the arena, and then backtrack to the lot. It's ridiculous. They either need to make another parking garage or at least have golf carts making trips to campus from the lot!

The parking situation is ruining my ability to get to class on time as a commuter as well as my experience at gcu. My walk is a mile and a half long and takes 20 minutes if I'm lucky. Because there is no cart or bus system I worry about the conditions I'll have to walk through to get to class this year. The lot is causing sun damage to my car, and the concrete scrapes under my car everytime I enter and exit the lot. I can imagine this will get worse as the year progresses with the amount of users in the lot.

As an on campus resident for GCU, I find it difficult and frustrating, paying for a space in a designated area when there are hardly ever enough spots because so many people are in the same garage. I know it's even worse for the people in Agave, Diamondback, Encanto, Sedona and Chap.

Very dangerous parking situations and very poorly planned despite all the growth on campus that is so well planned. Didn't take into consideration the environmental elements that destroy students cars, safety concerns, lack of spaces, accessibility, proximity to living quarters and do not provide any kind of shuttle for what they currently have to alleviate some of the distance safety concerns. Very poorly planned and inadequate for such a great school in so many other areas.

Gcu parking gets worst as the years go by. Parking does not accommodate for the amount of students they have.

Seriously? We add an apartment building, bring back ocotillo, but don't bother to add parking? I couldn't find a parking spot Sunday night and ended up having to park on the roof of 29th. I burned my legs getting into my car today. There's commuters parked in the Colter lot, people parked illegally creating dangerous situations. It's just ridiculous!

It is frustrating how over crowded some of these garages are. Not to mention sometimes classes are on the other side of campus and we're late because of the distance or the population of the parking garages. I paid for a certain garage and I couldn't even park in it because security told me it was too crowded. Shouldn't there be a limit of how many parking passes that are sold, especially if the number of parking passes sold is far beyond how much space there is in the garage? This is such an issue that needs more attention.

Seriously parking from my freshman year, to my senior year has just continuously gotten worse and worse. GCU has not taken into consideration how many people bring cars on campus who are actual residents and they definitely don't accommodate commuter students. I cannot believe I had to pay $10 to leave my car in a dirt lot that is basically the earthly form of hell. There are way too many people trying to park there and you cut down the already limited parking to add more buildings?? Inconceivable!! GCU has continuously shown its returning students that they don't matter to the university and made me, at the very least feel like just a dollar sign to them.
