It is an Oregon state right that all students have access to use the bathroom that aligns with their gender identity. At Franklin High School, this right is denied because there aren’t enough gender neutral bathrooms. FHS gender expansive students have a lack of access to bathrooms because FHS was remodeled before this policy was put in place. Students are forced to use gendered restrooms and changing rooms, and/or to wait long times or walk across the school for access to restrooms.
