This is not a reflection on the current workers in Bard’s Health Services, but rather the funding that is put into those services. This past month, I have encountered too many people who have said that they are not getting the help they need from Health Services. When I ask them what they mean, their answers show that both mental and physical health needs are not being met. Stories that I have heard pain me. There are too many voices that go unheard, and too many people that drop into deeper need of assistance. Health Services needs more funding. Bard is a place where it’s usually up to the students to get things done. I think that when we are dealing with an issue that affects so much of the student body - we, as a community, need to stand up for each other and make a change.

the staff there are trying their best but they clearly dont have the budget they need to handle the volume of students. fix it.

it is honestly scary how long the wait times are when you are actually sick. we deserve better than this.

Health Services is one of the most important facilities on campus and needs to be funded as such ESPECIALLY after such a tragedy has occurred.

i had a really bad experience last semester trying to get basic physical health help. bard needs to step up and stop ignoring this issue.

The main difficulty is how to achieve this without raising tuition, something that would be equally harmful to a lot of Bard students
