The Organic Food Production Act of 1990 (as amended in 2005) reads:
SEC.2114 (7 U.S.C. 6513):
ORGANIC PLAN:
Crop Production Farm Plan:
"1) SOIL FERTILITY: An organic plan shall contain provisions designed to foster soil fertility, primarily through the management of the organic content of the soil through proper tillage, crop rotation and manuring"
HOW CAN THERE BE ANY QUESTION ABOUT WHETHER SOIL IS FUNDAMENTAL TO THE ORGANIC PLAN? SHAME ON THE NOP!

A plant on hydroponics is like a patient in the hospital. Keeping alive with a baxter but not really healthy. you can feed the plants with nutrients but real organic growing is much more than nutrients.

Hydroponics uses synthetics, synthetic fertilizers, and plastics (petroleum based products) etc., involved in the processes of their production and that is not the natural God given Organic way ! NOT what I would consider Organics! Organic first and foremost begins with the ORGANIC SOIL!!! They need their OWN certification as Hydroponics/Aquaponics and NOT ORGANIC!
