Mooresville Pickleball Petition

I live in Mooresville and every day I go to either Huntsville, Cornelius or Statesville to play pickleball. There are two courts available in this town, and in the summer they are given to the kids for tennis lessons. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the world and Mooresville needs to keep up.

We definitely need more dedicated courts for pickleball in Mooresville.

Step up Davidson, NC ..... two lined tennis courts don't count!!! Take a lead from H'ville!!!

I love to play Pickleball!

The Mooresville community - not just the current pickleball community - would benefit greatly from dedicated pickleball courts. It's a sport for ALL ages and all abilities. My family of four plays, including my two daughters who are US Open gold and silver medalists. Higher level players will not play on tennis courts, and rarely play indoors so we have to travel oftentimes an hour to play and practice. We would love to be able to play in our own town, and would love for players to come to us instead of us driving all around area to play. Additionally, my daughters volunteer with the therapeutic pickleball program through P&R - the Special Olympics athletes deserve to learn on real courts as well. The sport is growing exponentially in the younger age groups and diversity within the sport is unlike any other we've played because it's generally inexpensive and accessible. Please visit the courts at Clark's Creek and see what those dedicated courts have done for the local community - it's amazing to see families and people of all ages, races, ethnicities, shapes and sizes out laughing and enjoying the game and one another. If you're interested in seeing what a pickleball complex can do for a town economically, please reach out to the Mayor of Griffin, Georgia, regarding their complex within a larger park. We recently played a tournament there and were very impressed with the facility and the excitement of the town's representatives. They are getting ready to expand a very new complex because of the successes they've already seen.

Please expand dedicated and shared pickleball courts in the area! Courts are needed and PB is growing so fast.

Please consider moor outdoor dedicated Pickleball courts in the Mooresville area. So much outdoor play these days that there just isn’t enough availability.

I appreciate everything that Mooresville does to support recreation and the arts in our community. I hope you can add more support behind the rapidly growing sport of pickleball.

I have to drive 20 to 25 minutes to get to an public indoor or outdoor pickle ball court. I live off of Brawley School Road towards The Point in the “ignored” part of Mooresville (except when it comes to taxes). No public parks or recreation facilities of any kind. The closest location is Cornelius Road Park that is a 20 minute drive. Why is this part of Mooresville so underserved by Mooresville Parks and Rec.?
