The imprisonment for speech is totally absurd in any serious democracy and the president has the power under the basic laws of the country to cure this reintroduction of the repealed criminal libel law in another form.

The judgment handed down to the Muntie trio was too hash, severe, abusive and condemnable.
I join the many good citizens of this country signing this petition to call on the president to invoke Article 72 of the 1992 republican constitution.
The judgment is particularly a black spot in the white linen of our judicial service.
