I find the sentence passed on the Muntie panelists very harsh. While not condoning any threats of violence against our Judges, or making comparisons with previous situations where our esteemed Judges had been attacked and had not responded in the same way, given that they had acknowledged their error and had apologized for same at the last sitting one would have wished that our respected Judges would have tempered justice with mercy. It's very sad.

I think the depth and the breadth of the punishment is influenced by ill-feeling rather than rule of Law. Why is a panelist and board of directors involved in such contempt? Why is the Supreme court is the prosecutor and Judge at the same time? Similar precedence in case of supreme court famous Election petition where even more deadly commented such as 'families of the judges should buy coffins' in case the declaration do not go in a particular direction, did not even attract the punishment given to the Montie 3 and their owners.

I strongly believe that the length of the custodial sentence imposed on the three is very harsh. I am bemused that in spite of the result of the investigation conducted by the BNI, the learned Judges failed or refused to take cognisance of findings. Now my question, did the SC conduct any independent investigation to determine if indeed the three are capable of making true their threat?

Am disappointed in the hierarchy of the NDC. This wouldn't have happened under ex president Kuffour. This is certainly abuse of judicial power. Mr President, extend Presidential pardon to them

It's unfair to punish some pole for an offence when others were set free for that same offense.

I feel lonely whenever I opened my mouth to talk and defend the NDC, But after carefully analysing the situation, I have soften my stance. In fact the party and the government were overtaken by events.
It may be as a results of complecency.
It is possible NPP and their allied institutions read the situation very well and capitalize on that.
You realize that, initially, Mugabe was not party of the petition to the court but he and owners of the station were added to cripple and silence the NDC mouth piece ahead of 7 th December.
However, the NDC and government should also read and analyze the situation and corner them
