Mr. Oosting and former teacher Mr. Chmiel were two of the most positive and encouraging teachers that I had at Montgomery. Anyone who had them wouldn't question that they have done everything in their power to make the student's experiences as memorable, wonderful and exciting as possible. The art history program at Montgomery is so great and I'll always stand by that!

I believe that changing these guidelines will make school more difficult for students and teachers, The department head they are attempting to remove has made extensive progress in bringing new resources and learning methods to the students of Montgomery High School. Therefore we should keep the excellent faculty of the social studies department for the sake of the students and their future.

It concerns me that this superintendent is not challenged by the board that was elected to advocate for the students and the quality of their education. I'm sure the replacement for this clearly qualified superviser will be less than satisfactory. I hope that this petition can stop this rash and nonsensical termination. We need to remind Superintendent Gartenberg that she is an employee of our town and is accountable to the citizens.

We need the facts for a decision involving letting go of a beloved and effective teacher . We need to focus on the kids and less on politics . If there is a reason we do not know for making such decision then we should uncover it to keep the process transparent.

We are the parents of 10th grade student Victoria Mondelo. She describes Mrs Hodgson as the best history teacher she has ever has, one that stimulates critical thinking and applies history lessons to current event. Her after school personalized student support has help my daughter greatly and she has learn a lot in a manner she is excited to learn. It is inexplicable why is she being letting go other than personal disputes or disagrements we as family do not care. We support Mrs Hodgson 100% for all the reasons delinated in this petition and I join the many voices of students and parents, and other school teachers to urge the Board of Education to keep her under contract wirh the school
Explain the reason to the tax payers and get their vote before you take this action on your own.

The science department is underperforming while the social studies department is over-performing. Why is the leadership trying to break what works, and does not address the real issues of the absence of teaching in the science department.

The members of the board were chosen to first and foremost represent the interests of this community: the students and the parents. Decisions of this magnitude cannot be made without our input. I do not see any problems with how Social Studies is taught in Montgomery. In fact, it is one of the favorite subjects for both my daughters, thanks to the creativity of the teachers' presentation.

I think that this is disgraceful in that the students have excelled in this class and it also violates Objective 2.4 to "Recruit and retain high qualilty educators" and Objective 1.3 to "Ensure students' social-emotional needs are being addressed."

As a Class of 2010 graduate, I want to say that the Social Studies department was one of the most valuable components of my high school education at MHS. The teacher's non-traditional and student-focused teaching methods made the classes some of the best and most useful I have ever taken. After graduating, I attended Harvard, and can say with 100% certainty that the education provided to me by the Social Studies department went above and beyond in preparing me for the coursework there. More importantly, the teachers in this department taught me how to think in a way that transcends far beyond the classroom. It is a mistake to change the culture and methodologies used by these fantastic teachers, and I strongly urge you to reconsider this proposal.

The MHS Social Studies Department inspired me to pursue history classes in college, and it is some of my most valued knowledge that I retained from high school. Some of my best and favorite teachers from high school were a part of this department, and doing anything to weaken it would significantly lessen everyone's learning experience

On behalf of the excellent history teachers at Montgomery, the superintendent and quite literally, her cronies, need to be stopped. The township pays teachers to be creative and inspiring, and these actions the superintendent wishes to take completely undermine this philosophy. I would like to thank each of my social studies teachers, Mrs. Lieu, Mr. Stemmler, and Mrs. Murphy, for being able to give me such an excellent education. (Class of 2015)
