this man never deserved to spend his entire life in a cage for a nonviolent act. none of us have the right to permanently deny someone else of their life, happiness, and peace when they have never denied another human of theirs. it is clear that his sentence was informed by anti-Black racism in the justice system and his continued incarceration is a stain on the entire state.

Alabama needs to do better. The prison system as a whole needs to be abolished, or even completely re-designed in the way its run. This is not what humanity should be standing for.
