I read through some of the comments where people are talking about how the grim tone of Mortal Kombat is going to get lost in the shuffle and honestly it makes me so frustrated because that grit is exactly why we care about these characters in the first place. I have been drafting a long email to the team at Midway trying to explain why this feels like such a betrayal of the original vision but it is hard to find the right words when they seem so committed to this crossover idea.

I really thought this would just be a small vent session but people are actually showing up and honestly it makes me feel a lot less crazy for hating this weird crossover idea. Seeing this energy actually building is wild because maybe the developers will finally realize that nobody asked for superheroes in a fighting game about brutal fatalities (keep the universes separate already).

TOTAL GARBAGE. WHY RUIN A CLASSIC FRANCHISE LIKE THIS?
cmon ed look at what made the series great in the first place... it wasnt batman.
dont mix them. just make a proper mk game.
this feels like a cash grab. mortal kombat has its own vibe and dc just doesnt fit in. leave it be.
MK is about blood and gore. Keep superheroes out of my fighting games.

Are you kidding me? Superman vs Scorpion is the dumbest idea ever. Keep them separate.
