I don't want to have to move to a different state in order to get my career off the ground!

Film incentives bring jobs to Missouri. Kansas City and St. Louis aren’t the only parts of the state to benefit. Recently, a major successful film called "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" won many film awards. People from all over the country called the Missouri tourism and film offices to visit the filming sites. We Missourians missed out on a lot of tourist dollars because filming took place in another state. George Clooney's movie "Up in the Air" filmed at the St. Louis International Airport in 2009. The production hired every video film crew in St. Louis and booked over 200 hotel nights. This also meant they spent money in restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, hardware stores, and car rentals. They also rented a St. Louis airport terminal, and hired security, medics, nurses, and caterers. Our lack of film incentives has sent jobs to New Orleans, Atlanta, and Chicago. The cities and states have drawn millions in tax and tourist revenue. Get us film incentives. Keep unemployment down. Create jobs. Keep skilled people from leaving the state. Attract tourists!

Pass this word on Missouri! We need this as an industry!!

I am literally moving to Atlanta tomorrow because the amount of work in Kansas City is so scarce. I love living here but I can not support myself with the few opportunities that present themselves here.

I am an aspiring actor in the midwest and it’s really hard to find acting gigs and opportunities within my state.

The Film Incentive Program benefits the entire state and many workers outside the film industry. It provides revenue to many other states and Missouri is missing out of its share of this revenue.

As an actress, I would love to see more locally produced films!
