Please keep the airport vendors local. It is very special that Liquid Planet provides concessions. We don’t want lower quality airport food and beverages and we want to support a local Montanan!

Awarding this contract to an out of State corporation when a completely capable and already proven local business was an option is unconscionable.

I’ve encountered this issue personally as well with us being a Montana based marketing and communications agency. We have global clients who fly us all over the world as they value our experience, talent and results. However, many of the state run tourism org.s who are also being funded by state tax payer dollars higher agencies in Wisconsin, Oregon etc. Meanwhile we pay 7.2% as a Montana company which helps these operations while also contributing back to our community. It’s disheartening that we are not working as a community not just at a city level, but at the state level. Liquid Planet is a staple of the Missoula community and fabric. It’s competed and stayed afloat against the Starbucks and others, and that is because we want local business’s and their owners to thrive here so future generations can as well. If a business can’t truly handle the demands of the business then no they shouldn’t be awarded a contract just because they are local; but when they are actually a proven success and they are also local they should be a preference given. If the competitors want that preference then they should move here, pay the taxes, bundle up for the winter, and be a real member of our Montana community. I have motto that if you take care of your people your people will take care of you. I hope the board who hears this will do the right thing as we are all watching.
