It will be a good investment by building side walk, we could avoid possibilities of accidents.

In the interest of getting exercise and being green, I often like to walk in the neighborhood for long distances. Having a proper sidewalk to cover these portions of the local area would provide a safe path to encourage cyclists, walkers, and joggers.

Louis Stephens Dr is an NCDOT/state-maintained road. Like most such roads, this road has a speed limit of 45 mph, with no road shoulder and 45 degree downward slope almost right at the edge of pavement, leading down to a ditch. For the portion of this road that do not have a sidewalk, pedestrians have to either walk in the ditch (difficult) or choose to walk on the asphalt pavement or just off of it. This creates an unnecessarily risky situation and increases the probability of human injury due to a vehicular incident. This is a serious safety issue that can be remedied by providing curb, grass buffer and sidewalk conforming to the latest city/state requirements (as has been done in most of the rest of the city).
Kudos to the owner of this petition for bringing attention to this issue. The Town of Morrisville needs to work with NCDOT and spend our tax dollars to remedy this safety issue at the earliest.

Its very hard to walk with children on road without side-walk. Its not at all safe to walk or go out with missing sidewalk.

Please approve this project. I walk this road and it is very unnerving walking alongside speeding cars....speed limit 35 and even 45 in some parts
