We, the undersigned, call on the Michigan house of representatives to put on a public ballot a vote concerning the ban of smoking in public bars and restaurants.
We believe that, in Michigan, where unemployment is already highest in the nation, a ban on smoking in public restaurants and bars will cause a lack of business therefore layoffs and high unemployment. Our state cannot afford this.
The momentum behind this initiative has grown far beyond my initial expectations. It is clear that a significant portion of our population is deeply concerned about the economic stability of our local businesses. This level of engagement provides a strong foundation for our upcoming appeal to the legislature.

The government needs to get out of private businesses. Let the owners decide if they want to allow smoking or not. My local bar is hurting bad since this rule started.

Business owners should have the choice. so unfair for all the small bars that lost customers because of this.
