As a society we have to recognize the impact on our communities economically and criminally of one's "criminal" record haunting them for the rest of their lives. As the government creates more acts defined as criminal, the impact on families, communities and economies become more devesating. This petition seeks that New York State and Federal government allow all individuals previously convicted of minor misdemeanors and non violent felonies have their records expunged to allow them to seek maximum economic and educational opportunities. Specifically, this petition seeks to allow to have individuals to have 3 misdemeanors and up to 2 nonviolent felonies removed from their records. Please support this as Government is determined to make any act you do, don't do, or attempt to do a criminal act.
